The Design Thinking Summit in Berlin is an annual gathering of experts and practitioners worldwide. It's a place to learn, share, and network. This year there were speakers from KLM, BT, IBM, Nike, and Mural, to name a few!
I was excited to have the opportunity to run a workshop at this significant conference with so many great people in attendance!
The Workshop
The main goal of this workshop was to help people get started with visuals in their work. We started with a brief introduction and some warm-up exercises; the participants had to draw their ideal summit. Visual thinking revealed the different perspectives in the room, which was helpful in better understanding each other's needs and motivations.
Then, we jumped into a group exercise. We created teams of 4 people each and asked them to experience how visual thinking revealed perspectives and leads to alignment on a visual model. The teams worked together to create sketches that represented their understanding of the design thinking process. Finally, each group presented its work on stage, and we discussed the learnings from this exercise.
Conclusion
The participants experienced how visuals helped them in their daily work. Visual thinking helps create a shared understanding, aligns solutions, and sparks creativity and co-creation.
The Design Thinking Summit in Berlin is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, meet like-minded people, and make meaningful connections!
